2 Peter

In this final paragraph of 2 Peter, the Apostle encourages his readers to live in accordance with the hope of Jesus' return.

Join us we close out our time with 2 Peter.

In 2 Peter 3, the Apostle doesn’t provide us with any new information to respond to, but, led by the Spirit of Truth, Peter is going to stir up our “sincere mind(s)” (3:1) by “remembering the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord,” (3:1-2) so that we may steady our thoughts and remember that what is happening is happening because God said so.

As gathered Christians, we want to hear from only from God's Word and guard ourselves against heretical teaching that will divide and ensnare us.

Join us as we look to 2 Peter 2:1-22 for training on how to identify false teachers and false teaching in the church for the sake of holiness.

As he is approaching death Peter urges the church to remain steadfast and fruitful, and thereby obtain entrance into Jesus’ eternal kingdom. To rebuke false teaching in the church and assure them in the Christian faith, Peter directs Christians to the sure, certain, and timeless truth of God's Word.

In 2 Peter 1:1-15, Peter writes to confront false teaching and false teachers within the church. To thwart these anti-Gospel ideas, Peter seeks to anchor Christians in the message of Christ and encourages believers to walk and grow in that message.

We will be encouraged to know that we have everything we need for life and godliness when we have Jesus.
