On this Sunday, we will hear from Hector as he preaches from James 1:12-18. In this passage, we will see that, in hoping in God’s promises (1:12), by trusting his character and wisdom to produce steadfastness in us through various trials (1:13-15), and in being assured that we belong to Jesus, we will become a steadfast people who will receive the glorious and eternal crown of life at the end of all our trials.

This sermon marks the beginning of our series in the book of James which we’re calling “Faith that Works.” Our faith is not is not based on our works, but our work reveals the finished work of Christ which has changed our lives as Christians.

Everyone wants to be happy. We all seek happiness, and the options for our pursuit are seemingly endless. However, we were MADE to rejoice and be glad, in God. Conversely, for those who run after other paths to joy, other god’s, their sorrows will multiply.

So, how can I find joy in God? Psalm 15-16 present to us God’s answer by giving us what we may call, the path of Gospel Joy. Finding refuge in Him, we share in His salvation and eternal blessings. The result? Joy now and forever.

Psalms 11 through 14 are a collection of prayers to be sung by the gathered church. These Psalms recount David's struggle with his enemies and his commitment to trust in God in every circumstance.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, through these Psalms we will grow to discern the path of the righteous from the path of the wicked.

How do you live and respond in a wicked society? Psalms 10 tells us that we should look to God, to see the wicked correctly, and then in turn act accordingly.

Join us as we look to Psalm 10 and take an honest examination of ourselves and aim to see the fallen world we live in from God's perspective.
